Share the best of our autumn produce
with River Run Fall Farmshare
starts on October 19th!
Farmer’s markets might be ending, but we still want to feed you! We’re inviting our awesome community to become members of the farm for the Fall season. We want to share the best of what we have to offer with you 7 weeks of our organic produce delivered fresh from our fields on the Olympic Peninsula to your neighborhood in Seattle!
Located at foothills of the Olympic Mountains and only steps away from the Dungeness River, River Run Farm was started in 2013 by a group of young farmers looking to nature as a guide to grow top-notch organic vegetables.
We grow food because we believe that everyone deserves to have fresh, delicious produce grown without chemicals on the table. This Farmshare is an opportunity to build a community around good food and we’d love to have you on board this Autumn!
why a farmshare?
By signing up for a regular weekly box of our produce you’re helping to create a more stable market and sustainable livelihood for small-scale food producers. You will develop a more direct, open, and honest relationship with your farmer and with your food! In the words of one of our customers, “I so appreciated getting such fresh, seasonal, local produce. I also very much believe in small farming and loved the opportunity to support something meaningful to me”.

What you get in your kimchi or kraut kit? All the raw veggie ingredients you need to perfect or experiment with fermenting your own veggies. Each kit is designed to make around 5 quart jars of kimchi or kraut. It comes with a recipe that will give you detailed instructions on how to make each type of kit. We know some of you are seasoned processors, and others are really curious to try it out! We hope that these kits meet everyone’s needs.
Your kit will be delivered to your regular Farmshare pick up point on November 2nd. We have a limited number of kraut kits available, so please order by October 30th!
Kimchi: that wonderful, delicious and versatile condiment. We eat a lot of kimchi at the farm. Stir-fried veggies, rice, a fried egg and a side of kimchi is such an easy, simple and delicious meal. Try making it at home with this kit! All the produce you need to make homemade kimchi including a recipe from Theresa, our resident kimchi expert!
Hailing from the German hinterlands, Blaukraut is another take on the classic version. Traditionally, it uses red cabbage, apples, and onions to make an interesting and slightly sweet concoction. This kit includes organic red cabbage, heritage apples, and onions. All you need are jars!
Did you know that sauerkraut is extremely high in Vitamin C? Or that the abundance of lactobacilli in sauerkraut contains probiotics that help your gut flora stay healthy? Sauerkraut is a true super food and so easy to make at home! Try it out with this kit and you'll get all the organic raw ingredients you need to make 5 quarts worth of your own kraut!
